10/10/07 House Resolution 697

Having solved all crimes and problems at home and abroad, the United States Congress passed House Resolution 697 yesterday. What is H.R. 697 exactly? "Commending Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre for establishing a National Football League record for most career touchdown passes, and for other purposes."

I think my favorite comment on House Resolution 697 is:

Rep. Mark Souder [R-IN]: Madam Speaker, I yield myself such time as I may consume.

We're going to be saying lots of nice things about Brett Favre this afternoon, but I want to make sure that he understands the most important thing. In my fantasy football team, the Domers, he's my starting quarterback this weekend. I need a lot of points. I don't want this going to his head that we're passing this congressional resolution.

Rep Danny Davis (D-Ill.) should be voted out of office for speaking on this resolution without mentioning that Brett Favuruh has also tied the all-time interceptions record.
