1/17/05 Fox Blocker

Are you tired of watching Fox News? Get Fox Blocker. According to the website, "FOXBlocker is an innovative new product that filters out the FOX News network. Simply screw the filter into the back of your TV and never be exposed to right wing propaganda again (at least through FOX News)."

My cousin (name will remain anonymous) was bitching about the weather in Chicago. Look on the bright side, at least you don't live in Minnesota.

Who knew that Norway was so big. Check out MSN Maps' 1685.9 mile journey between two towns.

Hey, I just wanna thank everyone for their posts the last few days. They've made this blog actually worth reading.

Cousin Eric submits the question for the day. Who is the best professional athlete to play a role in a movie? My answer is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as Roger Murdock in "Airplane!".

Wasn't Brian Bosworth in a movie? Oh wait, the question is about professional athletes.

On a side note, I must reply to the nonsense about Fox News on this posting. If the 51% don't speak up, then the 49% begin to feel like they are really 90% because they all hear each other complaining and it then seems like everyone is complaining, so it must be a majority. Yes, I know that was a run-on sentence so don't bother pointing it out to me.

Isn't it interesting that the only network the left complains about is Fox News? That must mean they agree with ALL the other news sources (CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, CNN Headline News, MSNBC, Comedy Central, MTV, VH1, PBS which ironically is government funded, & anything owned by Ted Turner which pretty much covers every station but Fox News). My point is that there is 1 station they like to slam because of 1 show (O'Reilly Factor). The other show they don't like is Hannity & Colmes, mainly because Hannity presents his case much better than Colmes. Otherwise, their news programming is actually very fair and presents both sides if you would take the time to watch. I actually challenge you to watch an hour of their news (the news, not a show - otherwise I would judge entire networks on their shows like The Jerry Springer Show and The View) and judge for yourself. Oh wait, you've already blocked anything that contradicts what you want to hear...

I know I should stop posting these nonsense replies because it falls on deaf ears and closed-mindedness from the so-called "open-minded". I just remind myself that there may be a person out there, most likely living in a major metropolitan area, that has not heard a diverse point of view.

How about Muhammad Ali ....

One of the most memorable sports dramas because of its strong character development, Requiem for a Heavyweight is carried by Anthony Quinn as the washed-up boxer Mountain Rivera, and Jackie Gleason as his sleazy manager, Maish Rennick. In the opening scenes, Cassius Clay — before he became Muhammad Ali — knocks out Rivera in a stunning fight sequence.
